The Hunted

A lone boulder on the northern tip of the peninsula in a beautiful birch grove.
gp1
1. The Hunted SDS V8 star

Start in the horizontal crack. Crux start up the arête, then bust out onto the face and grab the wide pinch before gaining the lip and topping out. Landing is bad, but top out is a jug haul. Easier if tall. Reach for success! 🌟 (FA G. Losier 2004)
2. Click Click Bang SDS V7 star

Sit start on the jug rail at the bottom of the mini-dihedral. Navigate a tricky scrunch fest inside the dihedral. Enjoy a fun high step top out. Embrace the challenge! 🤸

Black Beast Area

Unique climbing in the heart of the peninsula
gp1
3. Black Beast SDS V5 star

Start matched on a flat block, make a big move up and behind you to the lip, then go up the arête and top out on the left side of the boulder. Definitely one of the best for the grade. Celebrate the accomplishment! 🏆
4. Belly of the Beast SDS V6 star

Begin on a pinch at the far right of the leaning horizontal crack, traverse left on painful holds into Black Beast. Very cool. Push through the pain! 🌶️ (FA Ben Blakney 2011)
gp1
5. Hinterland SDS V4 star

Start sitting with both hands in the jug crack. Climb straight up using a tricky sequence to gain the jug rail for a high top out at the apex. Conquer the climb! 🎢
6. Backwoods V3 star

Start matched on the good hold at chest height. Climb the face using amazing holds the whole way up to a high finish. A good spotter is advised until the flakes prove solid. Trust your partner! 👫

Deep Wood Boulder

A tiny boulder very close to the black beast area.
gp1
7. Deep Wood SDS V4 star

Start matched on the excellent hold. Climb straight up using the arête and slightly overhanging face. Enjoy the ascent! 🌄

Trail Blazer Area

As the name suggests - the final frontier of the Grover Peninsula. A far approach but the reward is worth it.
gp1
8. Trailblazer SDS V9 star

Start matched on the jug, power to the left arete, squeeze, pinch, and dance your way up! High starts? Sure, for an easier, breezier ascent. (FA G.Losier 2004 / David Quinn 2022)
9. Smizzles Abandoned Project SDS V-Project star

Climb the face and arête. Landing and top out need some work. Make it your own! 🔨
gp1
10. Hunter's Blind SDS V0 star

Starts sitting on the left side of the hole, matched on the lowest rail with a right heel. Climb out and up the face on amazing jugs the whole way. Enjoy the holds! 🤲

One Pansy Fairy Boulder

30m west of the Trail Blazer Area.
gp1
11. One Pansy Fairy SDS V5 star

Start on the low jug rail, make a big move to the right crimp gaston, then to the lip. A variation matches the gaston and exits at the top of the boulder. Mix it up! 🔄
gp1
13. The Incut Face - Left SDS V3 star

Start on the positive rail, perform contrived scrunchy moves across face crimps, then exit the dirty arête.
14. The Incut Face - Right SDS V3 star

Start on the positive rail and climb straight up. Reach for the sky! ☁️
